About Me
My name is Diego García del Moral, and I am a high school student with a strong interest in mechanical engineering, Formula 1, and the technical side of motorsport. I created this blog as a way to explore the engineering behind F1 cars, understand how different systems work, and explain those ideas in a simple and accessible way. What interests me most about Formula 1 is how every part of the car is connected. A small change in suspension, aerodynamics, steering, or cooling can affect the performance of the entire car, which makes the engineering behind it incredibly complex.
Through each article, I aim to learn more about the design decisions that make Formula 1 cars so advanced and to share that process with other people who are interested in racing and engineering. Writing these articles also gives me the opportunity to research topics in greater depth, question why teams choose certain solutions over others, and better understand the compromises engineers have to make when designing a race car. As I continue learning more about mechanical engineering and motorsport, I hope this blog can grow alongside that interest and become a place where technical F1 concepts are explained in a clear and approachable way.

My Engineering Journey
My interest in Formula 1 gradually became an interest in the engineering behind it. I found myself paying less attention to just the racing and more to the reasons behind a car’s behavior, from suspension geometry and aerodynamics to the way different systems interact under extreme conditions.
F1 Engineering became a way for me to explore those questions in more depth. Through each article, I research a specific technical topic, break down how it works, and try to explain it clearly without losing the engineering behind it.
The site also reflects my own learning process. As I continue invetigating, each article gives me the opportunity to understand a new system, connect theory with real applications, and document how my interest in Formula 1 continues to shape the way I approach engineering.

The Mission
F1 Engineering was created to explore Formula 1 as more than a sport, using it as a way to understand engineering in action. Through independent research and writing, I examine the systems, design decisions, and technical principles that shape modern F1 cars, from aerodynamics and suspension to vehicle dynamics and power units. The goal is not only to explain how these systems work, but to make complex engineering ideas more accessible while continuously deepening my own understanding of them. This site represents my curiosity, my interest in problem-solving, and my desire to connect what I learn in the classroom with real-world engineering at the highest level of motorsport.
